I had a better day today. I think that mostly stemmed from having a better night – of sleep. I can’t remember what time I went to bed last night, but I seemed to be asleep as soon as the light went out. I think I had to get out once in the night, although I’m not sure now (I have vague memories of seeing Clio in the night and she isn’t allowed in the bedroom so it must have been on the landing at some stage).
I woke up naturally as 6:20 before the alarm was needed, so turned it off and just lay there in the warmth for ten minutes. I half expected there to be a dusting of snow when I looked out the window, but unlike most of the country we were blessed with a sharp frost and nothing worse. Clio was curled up outside the airing cupboard door – I don’t know if there is a warm draft from under the door, but she seemed quite happy there. Unlike my bedroom, her’s (yes the cat has her own room) has the radiator switched on so she would have been kept warm anyway.
So, breakfast and ablutions, a quick bit of correspondence on Facebook and then it was outside to brave the winter chills and scrape the ice from the car. I’m being a proper skinflint at the moment (well in some respects) and am refusing to buy de-icer. Well, a bit of elbow grease will do the job and gives you an early morning workout too! Less pennies on things like that and more to spend on Blueray discs. Speaking of which, I’ve pre-ordered my Dr. Who Specials set today. It’s due to be released on 11th Jan. Looking forward to that.
Work was fine, much better. I apologised to Jo for being grumpy yesterday. I’m putting that down to poor sleep and well seasonal blues (see yesterday’s entry for further info on what can only be described as an eggy day!) We’re still in the throes of our New Year Springclean – if there can be such a thing. We’re making good progress and I hope to finish up tomorrow. The work diary is already filling up and it really is a luxury taking time out to sort and tidy so we can start the year fresh and well prepared. I guess it’s not a luxury but an essential for the sake of sanity, really.
I think I’m still sane. The voices tell me I am anyway.
Time for some Christmas Pudding I think. What do you mean you can’t believe I still have some?
